CFL

Compact Flourisecent Lights (CFL) are replacing the old light bulb.  The beauty about CFL's are they use around 80% less power than a incandscent light bulb and last upto 8 times longer.

So as an example if you had 20 light bulbs in your house and you replaced these with CFL's, you would save around $100 dollars on your average electricity household bill per year.

So you save money and use less energy to light you home (a good result for everyone).

On average if you purchased 20 CFL's the cost would be around $80. Old Incadscent light bulbs are being phased out of the market, so you will need to eventually change over to CFL's. The phase out date is the end of 2009.

There are companies around that will install free light bulbs and shower heads, so check with your local council.
