Water

Water is a precious thing today, it sustains all life, its the centre of all life.

So lets use less and get smart how we use it.

A good starting point is the governments campaign to use 155 litres per person per day. visit the Vic gov website here for more info.

Its simple, we use water because over the last 50 years it's been cheap and hey, there is plenty of water. This isn't the current situation.

Look around your house to see the amount of water you use.

In the shower, washing clothes, dishes, in the garden, pools, spas, etc.

Eg: a 10 minute shower with a AAA rated 9 litres per/min uses, 90 litres.

Have a 4 minute shower uses 36 litres of water. If there are 4 people in the house thast a saving of 216 litres per day on showers alone.

Now if your street, then your suburb then your town made this change, we would be saving a lot of water !!

My thinking is the closed loop system. Imagine if you collected all the water in your own tank for use on your property, would that give you a feeling of self fullfillment? Its possible with the right sized tank and responsible use of water.

If you have a roof, you have a good catchment area for water, this can be used for the laundry, the toilet, the garden, the shower and for drinking.

Have a play and see how much water you use per day
